What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign is a modern alternative to traditional braces. It can straighten your smile using clear, removable aligners that snap over your teeth.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign works like traditional braces do by using pressure to shift your teeth into a straighter position. Our dentist will take X-rays and impressions of your teeth in order to create a 3D image that will allow us to map out your straightening plan. We will send the data to an Invisalign lab where aligners will be created that fit your smile.
How long does Invisalign take?
The average Invisalign treatment takes about 12 months, though this will depend on the severity of your malocclusion problems. You will wear the aligners 20-22 hours a day and change them every two weeks. Every six weeks you will visit our dentist so we can check your progress.
What problems can Invisalign fix?
Invisalign can fix the majority of malocclusion problems such as overbites, underbites, open bites, cross bites, and teeth that are crooked, crowded, or gapped.
How is Invisalign better than braces?
Invisalign allows for more discreet and comfortable straightening than traditional braces do. Their clear color means that they are virtually invisible on your teeth. Because they are removable, you can eat your favorite foods and easily clean your teeth. Traditional braces, in contrast, are highly visible and can limit what you eat and your ability to brush and floss your teeth well.
